WALLER HUGH PATON 1828-95

No.4
Loch Lomond (1558)

Paton was one of the few of his generation to work "en plein air", the fashion at that time being to complete landscapes in the comfort of a studio. He enjoyed depicting the countryside of Perthshire and Aberdeenshire and especially the Isle of Arran.  His brother and sister Joseph Noel Paton and Amelia Robertson Paton were also artists.
